CCI Represent the Fabrication and Engineering Sector at Bank of England Round Table

This week, CCI Ltd were proud to represent the fabrication and engineering sector at a Bank of England Round Table held in Wrexham. The event brought together a small group of businesses from across North Wales and the North West to share first-hand insights into the challenges facing SMEs in our industry.

The session was led by Clare Lombardelli, Deputy Governor for Monetary Policy, who is responsible for overseeing economic analysis, policy decisions and national financial outlooks. Her engagement with local businesses shows a clear intention from the Bank of England to listen directly to those working on the ground.

Being invited to take part was a significant moment for CCI. It is not often that SME fabrication and engineering companies have the chance to speak directly to senior economic leaders and we were privileged that the Bank of England sought CCI’s input. They listened carefully to our experiences and acknowledged the increasing pressures that companies like ours face – from rising material costs and skilled labour shortages to unpredictable project cycles and increased client expectations.

The discussion was open, constructive and genuinely valuable. It is encouraging to see national decision-makers taking time to understand the realities of businesses operating in our region and we see this as a positive step toward giving SMEs a stronger and more influential voice.
